Hello, I'm Steven.

I'm a self-employed complementary therapist based in Tavistock, Devon at the Platinum Centre Wellness Rooms on Brook Street and the peaceful Tavistock Therapy Centre, Abbey Place.

Trained in London at City Lit and the London School of Massage, I'm a member of the CThA (Complementary Therapists Association) and am fully insured, so you can rest assured that you're in safe hands.

My aim with every client is to provide a truly tailored experience that is focussed entirely on you. Your privacy, comfort and care are of utmost importance to me, and I take great pride in paying attention to detail and considering the whole experience.

I'm passionate about massage, used as a therapy for body, mind and soul. I believe in harnessing nature's own methods of self care through aromatherapy, and I'm fascinated by the power of energy – both what makes the world tick and yet also magical. To me, working with energy in a treatment setting seems so sensible and right.

I'm an approachable, friendly and caring professional who likes to inject a bit of fun and humour into client sessions. I truly believe I'm lucky to have found an occupation I love, and I hope this comes across in the treatments I give. Your wellbeing is paramount to me and my ultimate goal is for you to leave each session feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to take on the world.

Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue.

It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons and fascia.

The various Swedish massage techniques are designed to improve your circulation, soothe your aching muscles and make you feel more relaxed.

Swedish massage uses varying pressures, softer strokes on the bonier and more delicate parts of the body, and stronger strokes where there is thicker muscle coverage. This adjustment of pressure makes it an ideal massage for relaxation but can also be used to energise the body.

Aromatherapy massage utilises essential oils extracted from plants to enhance and add to the benefits of massage.

The therapist will typically blend different essential oils to create a custom blend tailored to the individual's needs.

The essential oils used can help to reduce stress, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and provide a feeling of balance and well-being.

Aromatherapy kit including bottles of essential oils

Unlike, the Spa version where hot stones are laid upon the body, this Hot Stone treatment incorporates the heated pebble shaped basalt stones into the massage strokes from the very start.

Held in the therapists handswhilst massaging, the stones add a warmth to the already relaxing strokes of a Swedish massage and increase the effectiveness of a Deep Tissue massage, working further into the muscle fibres.

A relaxing massage for the different stages of pregnancy from the second trimester onwards. Lying on her side the client (and her bump) is supported with pillows, blankets and towels.

This massage can help release muscular tension in the upper back, shoulders, lower back and hips and aids in reducing anxiety and any emotional stress that the mother is feeling at this time of change
